I have decided that in each month this next year, I am going to produce a new piece of art, and by the end of the year, I will have 12 pieces. (I am always able to finish within two to three days, but I want to take my time.) I will decide, on these 12 pieces, and on prayer, maybe the right decision will be made. maybe if I had a little more confidence in my art, the way people do when they see it, I'm sure that it will be worth it in the end. Maybe, by this little experiment, I will learn self confidence and esteem, and learn that I can do anything I want to, just like my parents used to tell me when I was 5.
Below are mostly art pieces that won me a scholarship in high school. The common size of the pieces are 18x24.
This one was called 'Apples and Pears'. I used white charcoal on black paper, we had to use the white charcoal to make the shadows. We were not allowed to use black charcoal.
This is called 'Autumn Harvest'. I used Chalk pastel for this still life, and it is one of my favorites.
I just generally call this 'Ball Jars'. It really doesn't have a title on it. This is a pencil still life, and the first picture that I attempted drawing glass.
This is 'Bowl of Ornaments'. This was black charcoal on white paper.
This is Rose-N-Bull. Yes, you can see me in the cellophane. :) It was black charcoal on gray paper.
I attempted to draw some cloth, I don't think it turned out well. this doesn't have a title, I just call it cloth
'Converse Love'. This is a scratch board. I am 98% positive that i got this off of Google. I haven't done many copies of internet pictures, but this is one. :)
'Dinner-Time'
Black charcoal on white paper.
'Moses and the Commandments'
This is literally the real size of this picture. It was so small, i had so much trouble putting in the cloth and other details. this was 4x6
This is a crop of my portrait, from 'Self Indulgence'
'Pearls and Flowers' A still life I made, with oil pastels, on pink paper
This is a picture of my husband. He has natural red hair, so i chose red paper. He was wearing all black so i wanted to show him off. He had a black streak in his hair. i was so happy with this result.
'Reflections Study' There are a few friends of mine as well as myself, in the large vase. This was both white and black charcoal on gray paper.
'Self Indulgence' A self portrait, and a study of reflections.
A self portrait. This was a copy from a senior photo of myself.
Still Life Study
Study Time
'Tea Time'
You can see the art board clips in this picture, but this was chalk pastel on creme paper.
A portrait of a lovely woman, named Whitney Kolb.
